1. The focal point

Zion Williamson is the focal point of this team. That is why they drafted him number one overall after all. There’s no doubt that this team has a lot of talented players and you’d expect every player in their rotation for the remainder of the season to have a big impact on how they play each night. Ingram was an All-Star this season and has been the number one option for this team for the majority of this season, and he’s done it extremely well. But Zion’s ability, and definitely his potential puts him on another level.

In the short period that we did see Zion this season, he played like a veteran perennial All-Star. There were questions over how good Zion could possibly be in his rookie year and I think the answer to that was exceptionally good. He’s shown why there was so much hype over him since his high school days and what he’s done so far is just the start of it.

At just 20 years old, Zion has an incredible future in this league. He has unknown potential and is already a star player within the NBA. Over this eight-game schedule, he’s going to be the difference-maker and brings this team exactly what it’s been missing at times this season. He’s the one who can turn this Pelicans team from a team with no shot at the playoffs to a playoff team and he has the opportunity to do this in the coming weeks. He’s the focal point of this Pelicans side and will be for years to come.
