LA Clippers: 3 takeaways from the Orlando scrimmage games
The LA Clippers are done with their scrimmage games. While they were just exhibition games there was still a lot to take away from them.
Dealing with adversity was what the LA Clippers knew they were getting into when they decided to play in Orlando. During the whole scrimmage period, the Clippers had to deal with controversy and players coming in and out.
Before play started head coach Doc Rivers talked about the team’s determination going into these games.
"“It’s awkward for everybody,” Rivers said. “But we’ve decided to come here. We all had to make an individual decision to come down to Orlando. Once we got here, we decided this is our mission. We’re just here, we’re going to try to drown out all the stuff that distracts us from our goal.”"
Keeping all the distractions away from them will be tough but the team will have to stay together. What happened over the past week is just a small sample of what the next three months will have to offer.
The Clippers had Ivica Zubac, Montrezl Harrell, Lou Williams, Landry Shamet and Patrick Beverley all out during the scrimmages. The Clippers will not have some players for the restart opener against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
Lou Williams was seen partying while he was out of the bubble to Rivers detest. While it is not a great deal of concern Kawhi Leonard did not have the best performances while playing in the scrimmages.
All of this happened and the Clippers were still able to win two out of the three games. While they are just scrimmages the Clippers showed the resiliency necessary to win during the Orlando games.
