#2. Finally healthy
One of the most common excuses that have been used when discussing the Kings’ troubles this season has been their health.
The injured list filled up early this season when Marvin Bagley fractured his thumb on opening night, followed by Fox missing 15 games with an ankle issue. Health issues to their two cornerstone players spelled trouble for the Kings early in the season and hampered any development of cohesiveness or chemistry.
There were also injury issues with Holmes and Bogdan Bogdanovic. The latter missed 11 of a possible 64 games on the year, five of which came at the toughest possible time as the Kings were in the midst of a terrible stretch of games. Holmes was arguably the team’s MVP during the first half of the season, but he suffered a shoulder injury that caused him to miss 25 games. He made his return just two games before the season was suspended.
Now that the restart is about to take place, it seems as though everyone except for Bagley is healthy and ready to compete. Hopefully, the team has already gone through the worst of its troubles when it comes to COVID and other injuries.
