1. Jerami Grant

Like any NBA organization, the issue rarely comes down to finding talent. The issue, most notably for the Sixers, has been how to control and magnify their personnel every year.

Except for Brett Brown for a small portion of 2018, the Sixers have employed three different general managers over seven years. As it was alluded to earlier, players seem to hit strides in their careers once they depart from Philly. Consequently, there is a direct correlation between the inadequacies in the front office and this team’s overall success.

For instance, during Wednesday’s scrimmage between the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards, what do you see? Jerami Grant in the starting lineup alongside Nikola Jokic and Bol Bol!

Why is this maddening?

The Sixers were never this innovative when they rostered an absurd medley of bigs, first and foremost. That’s not to say the Nuggets will continue with this tall lineup once some of their players return from injury, but they seamlessly made it look normal. Second, Grant was virtually apart of this same lineup conundrum when he called Noel and Okafor teammates.

Serving as a versatile power forward with a 7-foot wingspan, well-received in the locker room, the fact that Grant is now shooting a career-high 40.0 percent from beyond the arc may have the Sixers thinking a bit.
