It’s Reggie Jackson and Joakim Noah’s time to shine

With Lou Williams likely staying in his sixth-man role but increasing his minutes, Reggie Jackson may find himself starting at point guard. Jackson has one start under his belt with the Clippers, and he’s been a part of closing lineups.

While Morris has been cold since his arrival, Jackson has been just the opposite. As a Clipper, he has shooting splits of .525/.452/.900. Of course, just like Morris is sure to heat up, Jackson is almost certain to cool down, but it’s a nice start nonetheless.

It’s a small sample, but in 364 possessions with Patrick Beverley off the floor and Reggie Jackson on, the Clippers have a +13.2 net rating. This may not be a reliable indicator of great future success, but it does suggest that things will be ok in the short term without Beverley at least.

As for Joakim Noah, only time will tell what he has left and what he can provide on the floor. He may have been signed as little more than a locker room presence, but it’s quickly becoming possible that he’ll be relied upon for on-court contributions.

Can he still hang? We shall see.
