Duncan Robinson

Another player that you wouldn’t even think to protect last season. Can you imagine protecting an undrafted player who didn’t even play many games last season? Well, the Miami Heat could. Only Erik Spoelstra knew that this guy was about to take over the league with his shooting.

In today’s game, 3-point shooting is the most valuable asset anyone can have. Every player and every position is looking to improve their game to be able to stretch the floor. By stretching the floor, this opens up more opportunities for other teammates.

One of the main reason why the Heat have been successful this season is that they are the best shooting team in the league. And the reason for that is Robinson.

In his first season as a starter, he is not only having a great shooting season, but also a historic one. The thing about shooting is, it doesn’t get worse with age. Instead, it ages like wine. Just have a look at all the all-time great shooters: Kyle Korver, J.J. Redick, Ray Allen, and Klay Thompson.

All those players are the reason why Robinson needs to be protected.

He is only 25 years old with the greatest asset that is getting better each season. I wouldn’t be surprised if his career lasts over 10 more years. A catch-and-shoot shooter has the ability to play till his late 30s.
