Yeah, Joe Ingles is on my list, and there is nothing you can do about it!

I know some of you are probably thinking, “Wait, what?” and that’s okay. I understand your confusion. But consider this: It is because of your confusion that Joe Ingles would be such a great hang. Let me explain.

There is not a person in America outside of the die-hard NBA fan base that would know who Ingles was. They would secretively make comments like, “Wow, he’s so tall!” but no one would ever imagine that a man who looks like Joe Ingles would be renowned for his work on a professional basketball court.

Ingles is also one of the funnier cats in the league. On top of the fact that he is one of the underrated hilarious social media follows in the NBA, Ingles’ entire demeanor is comical in and of itself. A 6’8″, lanky white guy with premature hair thinning and an incredibly casual attitude just sounds like a guy I want to throw back a beer with after a long week. Upon realizing that he is somehow one of the better players in a league where his average opponents look nothing at all like him, he can easily be considered one of the biggest enigmas in professional sports.

On a more serious note, Ingles is also a happily-married family man, a father of twins, and has a third child on the way. As of last year, Ingles’ son, Jacob, was diagnosed with autism, and where some fathers would struggle with such news, Joe took it in stride. He immediately began using his platform to advocate for children with similar afflictions, spreading awareness whenever and however he can. If his contributions to the autistic community do not illuminate you on the kind of person Joe Ingles is, then nothing will.

Many might not think Ingles would be a great hang for some of the reasons I listed above. As a matter of fact, I assume he will be my most controversial pick on this list. To the unknowing, he may come across as somewhat dull, but I would prefer to drink beers with a funny, family-oriented, humble, average Joe over most of the NBA’s egomaniacs any day of the week.
