Best dynamic duo on the wing

Leonard and George have been doing this for a long time. They are some of the biggest draws to the league. The NBA owes them for the plenty of great memories they have given us.

From Leonard’s game-winning shot last year to George’s 360 dunk during his days with the Pacers these two players are the best of the best.

They have many similarities. They are great defenders which leads to opportunities in transition, they can dominate with the ball in their hands and without the ball in their hands and they make great decisions.

This team runs through these two players, yes but what they both do so great is play efficiently. They make their shots and have a great eye for the ball on defense. The chances they take work for them more times than not.

The differences between the two players are what leads to everything working so well. Leonard likes to overpower you. He will dunk on you and guide the ball into the basket. He is physical on defense and likes to muscle you. George is very smooth. He likes to chop you up on offense and methodically dominate you. On defense, he’s in the passing lanes and he is very crafty. You can tell he’s seen it all in his basketball career.

In school, we all learned about compare and contrast sheets. It was two giant circles coming together and the differences section was bigger than the one similarities section. While two people are similar but greatly different they can still come together and be great examples of success.

According to Doc Rivers on how the Paul George deal came about via The LA Times:

“We showed him (Kawhi Leonard) everybody else, and he didn’t want to hear it. He just stayed on Paul George, so after the meeting, we sat down and I said, ‘We got to get Paul George. I don’t know how we are going to do it, but we have to do it.’ We did know that Oklahoma City wanted to break their team up, so that helped, but we didn’t know if we could get him.”

These two players are made for each other and they know it. An offensive and defensive force out of two players on one team like this haven’t been seen since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen in the 90s. This team’s vision was to win a championship and all the obstacles that they have overcome have led to this.

The LA Clippers will use the yin and yang of Leonard and George to keep the defense off-balance. Exciting play from both players should be fun to watch throughout the rest of the season.
