Chicago Bulls: Top 5 greatest one-season wonders in team history
By Steve Zavala
1. Nate Robinson — 2012–2013 season
Nate Robinson had a quality career in the NBA that featured stops to eight different teams. Many remember him for his playoff performances for the Celtics in 2010 or trio of NBA Slam Dunk contest wins. But he should be given far more credit for that time he pulled off a monumental upset in Game 1 of the 2013 Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Big 3 Miami Heat.
While Miami went on to win four straight games and moved on to the next round, Bulls fans today still cherish the memories from the game along with his overall playoff showings from that season. Robinson also led the team to a seven-game series win over Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. Against a durable Nets team, Robinson willed his way to becoming a reliable paint scorer. He carried much of the load for the Bulls in clutch situations, such as with his 34-point game in Game 4.
For a good month over the playoffs, Robinson was among the most efficient scoring point guards in the NBA. Overall, he did well for the team in a season where Derrick Rose missed the entirety of it due to his ACL injury.
The electric small guard went on to sign with the Denver Nuggets in the off-season.
