A look back at the five biggest and most intriguing LA Clippers what-if trades since 2000 that were inches away from happening.

Since the turn of the millennium, the LA Clippers have seen better days than in decades before. With 10 winning seasons along with five 50-win campaigns, Clippers fans are enjoying what is currently the most successful period in the team’s franchise history.

Even with the long-awaited success, the Clippers have not had it all go their way as of late. From their lack of a single Western Conference Finals appearance to multiple draft busts, it has been two decades filled with ups and downs. More so, these couple of decades have been marred with missed opportunities that had they taken advantage of, it very well would have elevated the franchise even further than it currently stands at today.

What-if scenarios are among those missed opportunities, especially in trades. In some trade rumors and notable proposed transactions, the Clippers opted to decline the offer and ended up regretting the decision shortly after. Other trade proposals culminated in the Clippers being inches away from pulling off a highway robbery deal.

These five what-if trades are clear examples of both. A few certainly would have propelled the Clippers into being a top championship contender within the Western Conference. And in one way or another, other rumored trades in this list can be argued they would have ended up in a win-win deal for both teams.

A multitude of what-if deals were considered, but here are the five biggest what-if trades for the Clippers since 2000.
