As Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap is set to become a free agent this offseason, we take a look at three potential landing spots that would suit him.

The 2020 free agent class appears to be much weaker than previous years, but Denver Nuggets forward Paul Millsap will be one of the top unrestricted free agents available this offseason.

Millsap is a four-time NBA All-Star that’s about to finish his 14th season in the league. He will be coming off a three-year, $90 million contract that he signed in 2017 with Denver. At 35 years old, he’s still known as a valuable contributor.

More from Hoops Habit

In the 2019-20 season, Millsap is currently averaging 12.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on 48.6 percent shooting from the field. Although, numbers don’t necessarily present the extent of Millsap’s valuable presence.

Millsap provides as an effective defender on the perimeter and in the interior with his strong, physical appearance, versatility, and high IQ. His contributions exemplify what coaches want to see in a defender since he can defend all areas of the court. Millsap is an important factor in Denver Nuggets’ head coach Mike Malone’s defense as they currently allow just 108.9 points per 100 possessions, which ranks 12th in the league.

In addition, Millsap has the capabilities of scoring from all angles on the court whether it’s at the rim, on the block, midrange, or beyond the arc. In fact, Millsap is currently shooting a career-high 44.0 percent from 3-point range. He’s done a terrific job expanding his offensive package and adapting to how the modern game is played throughout his career.

Many teams would value the presence of Millsap as the Nuggets do now, especially those teams that are contending for a championship. Expect him to draw plenty of interest from playoff teams once 2020 free agency hits.

It’s very possible that Denver could re-sign Paul Millsap and agree to terms on another contract, but here are three other destinations that could suit him and potentially land his services.
