The Cleveland Cavaliers have plenty of gaps to fill in their lineup. Here are five 2020 NBA Draft prospects who can carve out a much-needed role.

In a twist of events, the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ 2019-20 season may not be completely over just yet. A proposal for a second bubble in Chicago is expected to become a reality soon, per a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Nonetheless, the Cavs need to remain focused on the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft.

The team has a number of glaring issues. None of which will be resolved by finishing the season in Chicago. A mini-training camp and brief competitions against the other bottom-eight teams will only serve to help bring clarity to the season, at best.

More from Hoops Habit

As the worst team in the Eastern Conference, the Cavs don’t have much to gain from returning to the court this season. Instead, most of their attention should be directed at the various prospects they could select in the draft.

The 2020 NBA Draft is one of the more interesting ones in recent years. There is no clear No. 1 overall pick and only a few prospects even appear to have franchise-changing capabilities. It will be more difficult than ever to find the best option for each team.

Yet, for the second straight season, the Cavaliers hold the best odds to win the draft lottery. With only a 14 percent chance of the to pick, there also stands an overwhelming likelihood they fall deeper into the order, with sixth being the furthest they can drop.

This opens the floodgates for all of the potential paths the Cavs could take. Do they take another guard, or will they select a center despite recently acquiring Andre Drummond? The Cavaliers not only need to select a talented prospect but one that fits with the current team. Today, we analyze the five prospects who make the most sense with the franchise and what their role would be in the rebuild.
