Allen Crabbe

With a remarkable shooting ability, Allen Crabbe is a genuine must-have for a team like the Phoenix Suns, especially with their injury woes at the three.

Crabbe is a player that fans glaze over when looking at current free agents, and there’s no problem with that. He’s struggled to supplement himself into a system that truly works with him, but there’s still hope for the 6’5″ guard. Crabbe, who was waived at the trade deadline, still has the ability to prove himself as a recognizable role-player, and the Suns are just the place for him to capitalize on that. After all, a lot of teams ignored Crabbe because of his ugly contract, but it’s out of the picture now. Crabbe, theoretically, is the best spot-up shooter available for teams to sign during this extended window.

Now he certainly won’t be scoring twenty a game, not at all. But he would fit perfectly into a system like Phoenix’s, especially as a spot-up shooter. Like Smith and Simmons, he’s a great player to slot next to Devin Booker and that shooting-oriented lineup. Crabbe is also a decent defender as well, even though he does have some room for improvement.

It’s worth noting that Crabbe still has his name of other team’s free-agent board, but he almost fits the Suns perfectly. The only issue would be his asking price, and his ability to possibly shift to a wing spot. We haven’t seen Crabbe as a wing, so it could go out the window.

Still, Crabbe is someone we could be seeing a Phoenix jersey at the end of July, and he’d be the best logical decision.
