Indiana Pacers star guard Malcolm Brogdon has positive for COVID-19, joining Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic who has also tested positive.

Indiana Pacers star Malcolm Brogdon has tested positive for COVID-19, the team confirmed in a tweet sent out early Wednesday afternoon.

In a statement released via the Pacers by Brogdon, he says he is recovering well, and plans to travel with the team to Orlando.

“I recently tested positive for the Covid virus and am currently in quarantine,” Brogdon said. “I’m doing well, feeling well and progressing well. I plan to join my teammates in Orlando for the resumption of the NBA season and playoffs.”

Thankfully for Brogdon, according to this release he seems to be recovering well from the virus, and still plans to play the resumption of the season and the playoffs as the NBA prepares to convene in Orlando at the end of next month.

Recently, Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic has also tested positive for COVID-19 in his native Serbia, delaying his return to the United States.

With NBA players arriving to Orlando in mid-July, and being tested regularly in the bubble, it will be very interested to see how the league reacts to more players potentially testing positive for COVID-19.

It will also be interesting to see how the league handles players leaving the “bubble,” and what happens if one of those players comes back into the “bubble” and tests positive for the virus during the season, or in the playoffs?

There are a lot of uncertainties in play here, and the NBA needs to be very careful with how they handle those type of situations. The league also needs to watch the whole situation in the state of Florida as well with the cases in the state coming back positive at a very high rate.
