NBA: 6 best free agents who are eligible to play in resumed season

DeMarcus Cousins
While most of the players on this list would not have significant roles, DeMarcus Cousins is a player that could alter a team’s championship chances entirely. Although he did not play in a single game this season due to a torn ACL, Cousins could come back and make an immediate impact on any team.
Having been hampered by injuries these past few seasons, Cousins may not be the same player that he once was, no one can argue against that. However, the 4-time All-Star still played at a high-level when last seen on the court.
In 30 games with the Golden State Warriors last season, Cousins averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. The guard has gone through two significant injuries since then that include a torn quad and a torn ACL, but on a minimum contract, he would be worth the gamble for several contenders.
A variety of contenders seem to know this, as Cousins has been a hot commodity on the market recently, most notably by the Miami Heat. The 4-seed in the Eastern Conference, a dominant center such as Cousins could put them over the top and give them a much better chance to take down the league-best Milwaukee Bucks in a potential series.
While returning to the Los Angeles Lakers seems like the most viable option for DeMarcus Cousins, he will have plenty of other suitors when the transaction window soon opens. It would be an absolute shock if the 29-year-old goes unsigned for the remainder of the season, as there will be no shortage of interest in him.
