Honorable Mentions

Some may be in favor of Trey Burke returning, and I can see why, but I disagree with those fans. Though the former ninth-overall pick never lived up to his draft spot, Burke has proven he can be a serviceable backup point guard in this league. In the 25 games he played with the Sixers this season, Burke shot 42.1 percent from three, albeit on just 1.5 attempts per game.

He knows the system and the players, but he can only play one position, and he hasn’t been very good at it during his NBA tenure. His lack of playmaking for others will likely keep him buried on the depth chart barring an injury to Ben Simmons or Alec Burks, even if he does get re-signed. If the Sixers had faith in him, they would not have waived him to make room for Glenn Robinson III and Burks.

Allen Crabbe is another player that comes to mind because of his excellent shooting has a career 38.7 three-point percentage despite shooting a career-low 30.1 percent this season. He’s only 27 years old and an elite marksman. His defense is so horrendous that it may outweigh what he can do for the team offensively.

Crabbe has a career -0.4 Defensive Box Plus/Minus (DBPM) and a -1.6 Box Plus/Minus. While he can be a lethal shooter on the perimeter, he just doesn’t do enough outside of shooting threes, to warrant a roster spot on the 76ers.

At first glance, it sounds like a good idea because of his efficient three-point shooting, but while he can help in their most significant area of need, he will also hurt them in almost every other aspect. He may garner consideration because of his shooting ability. I also believe he won’t get one of the available replacement slots.

Let’s take a look at three players I feel should get serious consideration for a chance to play with Philly when they head to Orlando.
