9. Tracy McGrady

I was unsure whether to put Tracy McGrady on this list or not. He played for eight NBA teams and is remembered for three. Check. He was so flashy and entertaining, fans from all over the league would watch him endlessly. That might be discrediting. Still… I don’t hear much praise for T-Mac unless we’re talking about his NBA 2K card.

The truth about McGrady is that he is one of the most prolific scorers of the millennium. Since he won the scoring title in 2003, there have only been two players to score more points than him in a season. That’s it. Not Allen Iverson, not Kevin Durant, not LeBron James and not Russell Westbrook.

Just Kobe Bryant, who is considered to be a top-10 player all-time and James Harden, whose entire offense is centered on him scoring the ball. And as crazy as it is to hear now, there was a real debate between who was better, McGrady or Kobe.

McGrady was at one point everyone’s favorite player, but now? I don’t see many talking about him like he was one of the best players of the 2000s in his prime, because he was. But maybe that’s just me.
