2. Reggie Jackson

Reggie Jackson, a current member of the rivaling LA Clippers, is a player whom the Lakers should take a flyer on in free agency. Luring him away from their inner-city rival would be a significant boost in itself, but he could also be a substantial contributor to this team.

Jackson played only 23 games this season due to an extended absence caused by a back injury, but he made the most of his time when he was on the court. In 14 games with the Detroit Pistons this season, Jackson averaged 14.9 points, 5.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game before he got waived and soon signed with the Clippers.

In nine games with the Clippers before the NBA season halted, Jackson saw his stats take a hit as he faced a minimized role due to the team’s plethora of talent, but still played well. Although a small sample size, Jackson averaged 9.4 points, 3.2 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game as he bolstered the team’s championship hopes.

Whether off of the bench or in the starting lineup, Jackson has consistently proven throughout his career that he can perform at a high level, particularly at the offensive end. Jackson shot the ball very efficiently in his limited playing time this season with a 41.6 percent field goal shooting and 39.8 percent 3-point shooting between both teams.

Prying the guard away from re-signing with the Clippers could prove difficult, but there should be no hesitation from the Lakers if they have the chance to do so.
