15 NBA documentaries we would binge during the hiatus

13. The ‘We Believe’ Warriors
Before the Golden State Warriors became the ultimate villain in the NBA, they’d become the ultimate lovable underdog. Exhibit one, the 2006-07 Golden State Warriors playoff run.
One of the biggest upsets in NBA history, this Warriors squad defied all the odds and dramatically overcame the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks. At the time, this was the biggest upset in the NBA, the first of its kind since the first-round adopted a seven-game format. To this day, it remains influential.
The squad of Baron Davis, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Jason Richardson and a cast of role-players were able to spoil Dirk Nowitzki’s MVP season and eliminate the top-seeded Mavericks. Although they couldn’t make it past the second round, this series is well-worth a documentary.
Before the bandwagons would hound the Warriors, the We Believe team would become synonymous with the franchise. Even though the Warriors would become the complete opposite of an underdog franchise, this team was superb for its time and would be one of the last times that the Warriors wouldn’t be universally despised for winning in the playoffs.
A documentary for the We Believe Warriors is almost completely warranted, including a look at the Dallas series, their regular season and the impact from this team on NBA fans. Even the aftermath of the team would be an interesting study, looking at where these players would end up and how much the We Believe Warriors would impact their careers.
Even looking at the aftermath of Mavericks from there, and how that loss could’ve motivated their 2011 championship run. These are just small, but great ideas that could be considered for a possible documentary when the anniversary comes. Maybe for the fifteenth anniversary?
