15 NBA documentaries we would binge during the hiatus

4. The 2018-19 Toronto Raptors
This was the most recent yet one of the finer moments on this list, worthy of a documentary given the unique circumstances surrounding these Toronto Raptors.
Toronto was looking to go all the way, dealing away DeMar DeRozan in a package to the San Antonio Spurs for Kawhi Leonard. The Raptors played fantastically in the regular season under the leadership of Kawhi. But, it was their pursuit of the NBA Finals that has gone down as the most beloved in NBA history.
So many moments were produced from Toronto’s playoff journey. Whether it was Kawhi hitting that game-winner to put away the 76ers for good or when he dunked all over Giannis Antetokounmpo in a defying moment. This was only minor to their NBA Finals win, which was one of the best feel-good moments in a while.
It was the journey that captivated Toronto fans. Eventually, the whole NBA world was behind this Raptors squad. It was a fantastic moment in recent memory that truly captures the art of team-playing
They were finally able to make Toronto a basketball city, rather than a hockey city. Even though Kawhi would leave for LA, it was this season that has arguably been his best in his illustrious career.
It’s a moment that deserves a full-length documentary, talking about the journey that was put on straight out the gates.
We get that the Warriors were without Kevin Durant for most of the series, and they’d lose Klay Thompson to an unfortunate ACL tear. Who knows, the series could’ve been a whole lot different without these pesky injuries. But, we’re in the real world where injuries happen. T
he Raptors made for a fantastic underdog story, especially since none of the players on the squad was drafted in the lottery, making for some great motivation.
