7. Keldon Johnson

Just like Samanic, more information is needed on Keldon Johnson as well. He received slightly more run than Samanic this season, though, earning him a slightly higher acknowledgment.

Johnson was the 29th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, selected after earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors from the conference’s coaches after one season at Kentucky. As expected, he’s spent most of the 2019-20 campaign with the Austin Spurs.

Johnson has been a star in the G League, averaging 20.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Accordingly, the 20-year-old small forward has received some run in the NBA.

He has played in nine games with the pro squad, averaging 10.2 minutes per game. Johnson is averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game He played in the last four games ahead of the season’s pause and looked pretty good doing it. In the same game, Samanic made his lone appearance, Johnson showed out, scoring 13 points while grabbing five rebounds.

Just like with the rest of the NBA players, it’s hard to say how the eventual resumption play will affect Johnson moving forward. It seemed like Johnson was earning a permanent spot in Gregg Popovich’s rotation, however, a fact that shouldn’t change when the Spurs get back to playing.
