2. Josh Okogie

The only multi-year Timberwolves player on this list, Josh Okogie was fairly unknown coming into the league. While he hasn’t taken the NBA by storm, he’s certainly proved some of those early predictions wrong.

One big part of Okogie’s game which has always been an upside is his ability to draw fouls and score on the drive. During this season, Okogie averaged 3.1 free throw attempts per game, capitalizing on 79.6 percent of them.

Another positive aspect of Okogie’s game is his defense. Arguably the best defender on the team, Okogie averages 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. His defensive prowess is a nice breath of fresh air from how Timberwolves teams have defended in the past.

The biggest hole with Okogie’s game, and why he didn’t quite make the third-best player ranking, is the rest of his offensive game. Okogie isn’t the best scorer, averaging just 8.6 points in 25.0 minutes per game. Those numbers could be overlooked if it wasn’t for the fact that he doesn’t really have a secondary weapon on the offensive side of the ball. He’s not the best passer, averaging a 1.6/1.4 assist to turnover ratio, and he can’t hit 3’s at a high rate.

Okogie averaged an awful 26.6 percent from 3-point range, and to make matters worse he still averaged 2.5 attempts per game on that. Okogie’s shooting woes are a glaring problem in his game and are primarily what keeps him from topping this list.

And speaking of, the player who does top this list is…
