With D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns clearly taking up the first and second spot for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who is their third-best player?

The Minnesota Timberwolves made a lot of big moves at the trade deadline, and afterward, their roster was almost completely unrecognizable from when the season began. In those moves, the Timberwolves traded away one of their top players in Andrew Wiggins for another top star, D’Angelo Russell; as well as having made some key trades to acquire a much needed defensive big in James Johnson.

The trade was seen as a big one, not only because it brought in one of Karl-Anthony Towns’ best friends and a person who he said he would end up playing with, but also because it gave Minnesota a bonafide second star.

So, now that Minnesota has their top two players (Towns being the second one), they are close to having a Big 3, and they’re just one step closer to becoming a playoff team. Obviously, especially in the current layout of the league, a Big 3 isn’t necessarily a precursor to making the playoffs, but having three stars on the team could really improve their chances.

But on the subject of that big three, who’s the third-best player? In no certain order, the Timberwolves have Towns and Russell as their first and second-best player, but who can be that third option when Towns and Russell are taken out of the picture? Figuring out the answer that question is going to help a lot with building the team in the future, and thankfully, I’ve got a couple of names in mind.
