The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to add a few more pieces in order to make themselves into a playoff team. Who are a few guys they should look at?

Hopes were high for the Minnesota Timberwolves early on in the season. After a hot streak at the start, fans were optimistic about the possibility of a post-Jimmy Butler Wolves squad making the postseason. However, a couple of extended losing streaks and a few untimely injuries later, and any postseason hopes were dashed. Not only that, but it became clear that the team is still a piece or two away from being in playoff contention.

Of course, adding those pieces will not be as easy as it sounds. The Timberwolves made some big moves towards the end of the trade deadline, and the early results looked promising, but the season hiatus put a halt on that before any roles could be clearly defined. Because of this, any moves that Minnesota looks to make will most likely come later in the offseason as the team chemistry starts to materialize a little more.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few names that the team should be looking at along the way. Free agency is often the final step of a rebuild, and after those big trade deadline moves, the Timberwolves should only be a few pieces away from the next level. Here, Logan Alten and I look at some of the players that, while persuading them to join the franchise might prove difficult, the Timberwolves would be remiss not to reach out to.
