Conclusion

Good character is a distinct trait in the people Rose has been hiring. They’re known as hard workers and are well-liked around the league, which is a significant change from years past.

Now, it may be irrational to have high expectations about this new management, but it’s hard to contain the excitement when it seems like the Knicks have finally found a president who is making the right decisions.

Last month when Rose kept Perry as the general manager, Knicks fans were split on whether it was the right decision or “same old Knicks.” Fans were hoping that the team would shake up the front office and hire someone new so that there was evidence that Dolan was not running the show and things wouldn’t be status quo.

We still don’t know Rose’s vision for the Knicks, which is an uneasy feeling at times. But it appears that Dolan has handed Rose the decision-making keys. Rose seems to have a plan and has demonstrated that he can utilize his connections to assemble a team that’s equipped in scouting.

Between Perry (who has a decent draft record), Perrin, and Zanin, Knicks fans should feel confident that the team will be ready for the NBA Draft, whenever that is.

I can’t remember the last time the Knicks were complimented this much on their front office hires. But for what it’s worth, Knicks fans should have confidence that this Rose era doesn’t scream “same old Knicks.”
