1. Andrew Wiggins

The last best thing for the Warriors is acquiring Andrew Wiggins via trade before the trade deadline. Golden State shipped D’Angelo Russell off to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Wiggins and two draft picks.

Unlike Paschall and Lee, the former Timberwolve can contribute at a high level and be that third scoring option. Not to mention the Warriors will have Wiggins under contract until 2023.

Critics have been skeptical of the Kansas product after five-plus underwhelming seasons in Minnesota. Often Wiggins can come off as unmotivated or someone who isn’t living up to his potential.

Wiggins could score 30 points on any given night but sometimes he does not show the desire or will to win. But skeptics should consider the fact that most players who played in Minnesota didn’t experience success in the postseason until they were traded or signed elsewhere.

In the past Chauncey Billups, Kevin Love, and Kevin Garnett played with the Timberwolves and won championships with other franchises.

Playing in Golden State will be a huge benefit for Wiggins because he will get to be apart of a winning culture. Yes, this season is down the drain but the Warriors will be back next season.

Wiggins only played 12 games this season with the Warriors before the suspension and he averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. The spacing in Kerr’s offense along with the shooting of Curry and Thompson will make scoring easier for Wiggins who is already athletic and skillful.

Landing Wiggins in trade was huge and will pay off for the Warriors whether they keep him or eventually ship him off down the line.
