2. Damion Lee

The next best thing for the Warriors this season is the emergence of Damion Lee. The shooting-guard went undrafted in 2016 and found a new home in Golden State after signing a two-way contract with the team in 2018.

During this season he has taken advantage of the minutes that would go to either Curry or Thompson. Lee has set a new career-high in points (12.7), rebounds (4.9), and assists (2.7) per game. Critics and fans may not see this as a big deal but the fact that he can develop is major.

Kerr is excellent at developing young talent and getting his players to buy into his system. The fact that the team will miss the postseason makes it difficult to see any positives from the younger player’s development.

Amid an injury-riddled season, the current roster is benefiting from the team not being at full strength. Younger players like Lee get to experience the wear and tear of a full season and what it’s like to be on the losing side of a dynasty.

Lee will be able to provide solid minutes off the bench next season and develop under Kerr.
