Miami Heat: Breaking down team and player performances by uniform
Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo
Jimmy Butler‘s play takes a different form in each jersey. Do you want the most efficient Jimmy Butler you can get? Dress him in the black jerseys, in which he posts the highest field goal and 3-point percentages at 47.1 and 37.1 respectively. He also averages the most rebounds (7.8) and assists (6.5) in these threads.
Or maybe you just want a Jimmy that gets the most buckets? Choose the city jerseys; Butler averages 22.0 points in blue – the highest mark across the board – and recorded his season-high of 38.
Also, Butler has appeared in all of Miami’s ViceWave games (while missing at least three games in every other uniform) and averaged a low in turnovers at just 1.8, the only uniforms in which he averages less than two turnovers per game.
Many of Butler’s lowest averages occur in the white uniforms – a trend that you’ll soon see doesn’t stop with him. He averaged 18.8 points – the only uniform in which he doesn’t average over 20 points – and 6.0 rebounds. He shot 13.3 percent from behind the arc and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line. However, he also averaged highs in assists and steals at 6.5 and 2.0 respectively.
In red, Butler averages his lowest field goal percentage (40.7) but the highest free throw percentage (88.6).
Bam Adebayo has been most effective as a scorer in the Icon jerseys, averaging 18.5 points on 61.5 percent shooting. Unfortunately, these highs are coupled with a high in turnovers at 3.3 per game. Adebayo’s rebounding is best in blue; the first-time All-Star averages 11.2 rebounds and recorded his career-high of 19. He also shoots the best from the charity stripe at 73.3 percent.
In red, Adebayo averages 5.9 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.6 blocks, all of which are highs. In white, he averages the least points, assists and steals at 15.1, 4.5 and 1.0 respectively.
