Devin Booker

Finally, we’re finishing the grades with the main superstar for this young Phoenix Suns squad, Devin Booker. Can we classify this season as a success? No. We can classify it as a massive success.

This season, we didn’t see a massive improvement scoring-wise, but we saw a huge development in his playstyle. He became a reliable playmaker this season, developing a great vision with the ball. He also became a decent rebounder, which equals something. We also saw some improvements to his shooting efficiency. We were yet to see any defensive improvement, but Booker made an astounding change to his game, and we loved every damn second of it.

Booker averaged 26.1 points per game, 6.6 assists per game, along with 4.2 rebounds per game for good measure. We also saw the basketball gods award Booker with his first All-Star selection, finally. It was long overdue, and it was a late inclusion over the injured Damian Lillard. He excelled in all aspects this season, silencing the doubters. Booker easily jumped into the top three Shooting Guards in the Western Conference, and easily the top five in the league.

He was still excellent on the scoring end too, although he took a bit of dip in his numbers. This is obviously because of more reliability on Oubre and Rubio to score, which is fair enough. At the age of 23, we’ve seen the development of Booker into a cold-blooded superstar, and he’s primed and ready to lead this team into a playoff berth.

Booker’s best game saw the young gun nail the Philadelphia 76ers with 40 points on incredible efficiency, in one of the best wins over the season. He also had 23 30+ point games this season, which wasn’t his best, but certainly an impressive statistic to withhold.

Now, grading this young gun is going to be tough, considering he didn’t make a massive improvement on defense. His defense was average, but his other refinements are truly impressive. His other developments give him a high boost actually. He became one of the most deadly guards in the league as well, and he was a dangerous scorer to deal with, arguably one of the best young scorers in the league. This was all this season, take that in.

Booker is the next young superstar that we need to focus on more, he’s not necessarily underrated, but he was certainly overlooked.

This season was exceptional on all standards, and he rarely showed any huge flaws in his game. Heres to the Book.

Grade: A+

There, I did it, I gave Booker an A+. If he can improve next season defensively, and can lead the Suns to a deep playoff berth, he’ll be in the All-NBA conversation.

Next. What if Jayson Tatum was drafted to the Suns. dark
