1. Mr. Triple-Double

Westbrook is a walking triple-double machine unlike any other player in recent history. He’s has been the best rebounding guard in the league for a long time and is also among the league’s best in finding his open teammates and creating shots for them.

Westbrook ranks second in all-time triple-doubles with 146. Coming into the 2019-2020 season, Westbrook averaged a triple-double in each of the three previous seasons, including setting the record for most triple-doubles in a single season with 42 during the 2016-2017 campaign. Westbrook is also the first player in NBA history to have multiple seasons with 30 or more triple-doubles.

This season with the Rockets, Westbrook became the second player in NBA history to notch a triple-double against all 30 NBA franchises when he put up a 32-point, 12-assists, and 11-rebound performance against the Thunder, his former team, on January 20.

Many people overlook Westbrook’s record number of triple-doubles and accuse him of stat-padding. The bottom line is that very few players in the league are capable of producing the number of triple-doubles Westbrook does no matter how hard they try. The numbers Westbrook puts up on a nightly basis are simply amazing no matter whether he stat-pads or not.

Russell Westbrook’s athleticism, energy, and ability to put up a triple-double every game points to the fact that he is a top 10 player in the NBA.
