3 teams that should pursue Montrezl Harrell in free agency

Montrezl Harrell free agency destinations: LA Clippers
Of course, the LA Clippers, Montrezl Harrell’s current NBA team, make the most sense for him to come back and sign long-term. With Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Lou Williams and all of the pieces to form their best-assembled team in recent memory, the Clippers are the perfect destination.
Unless he wants to pursue a starting role, LA can offer Harrell the ideal situation with a team that could find themselves set up to win multiple championships over the next few seasons. If the team were to lose Harrell, they could take a significant step back in their quest for a title without their Sixth Man candidate, meaning they will likely look to lock him up long term.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers were reportedly open to listening to offers for Harrell before the trade deadline because they were unsure if they wanted to pay him that lucrative contract he’ll covet. Regardless, the team wound up keeping him, and it would be hard to imagine that they would just let him walk away for nothing in free agency.
Harrell may demand a heft contract from the Clippers in free agency. Having had a career year with them this season, paying him seems like the only option at this point. Only time will tell what comes of Harrell’s free agency, but for their ability to contend at the highest level and offer him significant money, the Clippers make the most sense for him out of any other NBA team.
