Kent Bazemore

Finally, the Philadelphia 76ers could target another wing in Kent Bazemore. In this case, Bazemore would be the best wing defender on this list. On top of that, he provides some much-needed shooting that the Sixers are lacking from their bench.

Since 2016, Bazemore has averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game on 35.0 percent three-point shooting. Bazemore’s ability to shoot is relatively streaky, as he has had hot and cold years, respectively. But, this should not deter the Sixers from pursuing him, given their lack of scoring off the bench.

Bazemore has been somewhat of a journeyman since joining the NBA back in 2012. Over his eight years in the NBA, Baze has played for five teams. He’s the kind of player who comes in and simply does his job. During that same stint in 2016, Bazemore averaged 1.3 steals per game, while netting a defensive box plus/minus of 0.7. While it doesn’t seem like much, the Sixers could use any sort of upgrade they can get on the wing.

Similar to Moore, Bazemore would have a distinct role to play, one which he has flourished in for the majority of his career. He can start if you need him to, as well. Now, Bazemore would be one of the harder players to acquire because of the Sacramento Kings‘ financial flexibility. Similar to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Kings have the non-taxpayer mid-level exception and the bi-annual exception at their disposal. This may make him a more valuable free agent than what the Sixers can offer, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

So, if the Philadelphia 76ers want to make somewhat of a splash in free agency, Kent Bazemore may be the guy. He would provide some solid offense while supplementing the defense, too. It may be a bit of a long shot, but the Sixers have a chance to land a player who would immediately make the bench that much better.
