Anthony Randolph (Pick #14 in the 2008 NBA Draft)

At 6’10”, 210 lbs, a lean Anthony Randolph was the 14th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft out of Louisiana State University.

Out of college, his lanky arms and lefty mid-range stroke gave him plenty potential; though nothing flashy, many thought he could possibly be the steal of the 2008 Draft.

With the exception of the last two weeks of the season, Randolph had an average rookie season. Using the momentum of the last two weeks, however, Randolph came into the 2009 Summer League and tore it up.

His dominating performances and obvious talent led people to believe he would win the 2009 Summer League MVP; though he didn’t win the award, things were still looking up for Randolph with an invite to the USA Men’s Basketball mini-camp and an extension to his rookie contract.

After his best season to date in which he averaged just under 12 points per game, Randolph was traded to the New York Knicks for David Lee.

A short stint with New York then saw him traded to Minnesota in a blockbuster deal that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks.

Though he had a stellar last third of the 2011 season, Randolph never took the next step, and he fell off the radar of NBA organizations.

After bouncing around with no real opportunities in the NBA, Randolph took his talents to Russia. An All-Euro Cup Second Team appearance then caught the attention of Real Madrid, where he contributed to their 2017-18 EuroCup Championship averaging 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Rudolph still plays and is now dealing with a fractured finger.

Though never contributing much to the Warriors organization, Randolph has put together a very respectable basketball career. Considering he wasn’t drafted extremely high, the relative success he’s had is nothing to shame.

Unfortunately for Randolph, he never had a stable atmosphere and couldn’t take the next step in the NBA, but he’s made the most of his time in Europe.
