Next, another need that the Philadelphia 76ers may need to address in the NBA Draft is the power forward off the bench. This season, the Sixers have run with Mike Scott. While Scott has been a solid spark of energy, he is streaky with his shooting. Some days, Scott seems like he can’t miss. Other days, all he does is miss.

But, that does not mean that he’s not a solid player. The problem lies in the lack of depth at that spot for the Sixers. That is to say, the Sixers literally do not have a backup power forward. In theory, the Philadelphia 76ers would have to run with Kyle O’Quinn or Norvel Pelle if Scott ever went down.

It’s important for a contender to have depth at every position. That goes without saying. But, in order for a contender to be sustainable, it’s important to cultivate talent for years to come. Similar to how the Toronto Raptors have been able to constantly fortify their bench, the Sixers need to look towards the NBA Draft in order to solve this issue.

One plus with this concern is that the Sixers have five picks in this year’s NBA Draft. They can solve this issue rather easily, especially with their bevy of second-round picks. Some of these picks are projected to be in the early second round, only providing more incentive for the Sixers to actually use those picks.

Some players for the Philadelphia 76ers to consider: Reggie Perry, Precious Achiuwa, Jalen Smith.
