#13 Pick – Portland Trail Blazers: D.J. Augustin (Originally: Brandon Rush)

If you want to talk about a guy who has bounced around the league in 12 years, D.J. Augustin is your guy. Augustin has rocked home colors in eight different cities before finding a home with the Orlando Magic.

This is Augustin’s fourth season with the Magic, and he remains a steady presence at the point guard position for a young team composed of what seems like 90 percent big men.

Augustin has been a part of four playoff teams. Aside from the Pacers team he made the conference finals with in 2013, his playoff record sits at 2-12. However, that isn’t fair to remove a player’s best year, so his playoff record is 13-20, so still not great. His biggest playoff moment was probably hitting the game-winning shot in Game 1 of the series versus Toronto last season.

Depending on the situation, Augustin has started and come off the bench. He typically can start for a team seated at the bottom of the playoff picture. As we saw in Indiana, a competitive situation likely sees him coming off the bench.

The lack of success doesn’t fall completely on Augustin though, who’s had a pretty solid career. He has averaged double-digit points per game in seven of his 12 seasons and averaged 4.0 assists per game in his career.

Augustin sits in the final year of his contract. Due to his level of play over the past couple of seasons, he will likely have earned another one. Whether in Orlando or somewhere else, Augustin will likely be suiting up for a few more years, and that career is worthy for the 13th pick.
