#11 Pick – Indiana Pacers: George Hill (Originally: Jerryd Bayless)

George Hill has had a career consisting of a lot of bouncing around. Wherever he’s played, he’s been a consistent impact player.

Hill has played on five different teams and has never missed the playoffs in his 12-year career. He made the conference finals in consecutive seasons as a member of the Indiana Pacers, lost in the 2018 NBA finals with the Cavaliers and lost in the conference finals last year as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. Not to mention the path of success the Bucks were on this season before the hiatus.

Hill has never been the star on any of those teams. He rarely was the second option offensively. He’s always been a consistent point guard who can shoot, defend and create offensively for his teammates.

After what seemed like his career was beginning to take a downfall toward the end of his Cavaliers tenure and the mid-season trade to Milwaukee, Hill came back with one of the stronger seasons of his career. It’s difficult to look at his total statistics due to his role as a bench player, but Hill took the bench role and thrived in it. Hill was shooting 53.0/48.0/83.1 before the suspension, which is unheard of.

The biggest thing George Hill can pride himself on is being the guy who was good enough to be traded for Kawhi Leonard.

Hill has had and continues to have a great career. A player who knows and fulfills his role and contributes to winning basketball.
