2. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have been in desperate need of star-power for several years, and Brandon Ingram could potentially be the player to become the face of that franchise. The Knicks are also another NBA team that could potentially have a lot of cap space to sign him to that deal he might be after, making them a contender in the Ingram sweepstakes.

The Knicks struck out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving last offseason, so odds are they would like to ensure they make a splash this year. Ingram is not on either of those player’s levels just yet, but he is still relatively young, and handing him the keys to the franchise would not be a bad idea.

Aside from Mitchell Robinson and rookie RJ Barrett, New York has no other players that make them a desirable destination for top-tier free agents, but it only takes one player to start a turnaround. Pairing Ingram up with Barrett does not make the Knicks instant title contenders by any means, but it would be an excellent move to attempt a rejuvenation of the once great franchise.

Ingram and Barrett could form an electrifying one-two punch, that, if surrounded by the right pieces, could develop into something auspicious in years to come. Given the Knicks’ free agency struggles in recent years, signing Ingram the All-Star would be a significant deal for a team that has been subpar for several years.

If Ingram wants that maximum contract and to be the face of a franchise, there genuinely is no better option than playing for the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden on the biggest stage in basketball.
