The Minnesota Timberwolves have had some terrible drafts the past two decades, and recent redrafts are a painful reminder.

It is no secret to any NBA fan that the Minnesota Timberwolves have long been in the dregs of mediocrity. Ever since their Western Conference Finals loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2004, the team has only made the playoffs one time (2018) and has a winning record in just two out of the fifteen seasons since.

With all of the high draft capital the team has earned in those years, one would think they would have built a solid team by this point. But stunningly bad picks and draft mismanagement has led the team to continually serve as the bottom feeder in the Western Conference.

With no NBA games (or any other sports for that matter) being played, many blogs and publications have taken a look back at past NBA Drafts and redrafted for each team, picking players that in hindsight should have been picked higher or lower.

Perusing through these lists is an ugly reminder at what could have been for the Timberwolves had they simply drafted differently.

Taking a look back at the 2009, 2010, and 2016 NBA drafts, in particular, comparing the players the Timberwolves could have drafted with who they wound up selecting is a walk down memory lane to forget.
