4. One of Caris LeVert or Spencer Dinwiddie

It’s unclear which of Caris LeVert or Spencer Dinwiddie Brooklyn would rather retain, but what is clear is that general manager Sean Marks will be making a play for a third star this summer.

After being the team to talk about last offseason, the Nets may once again be the team to watch in terms of a potential blockbuster come the summer. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s first season as a duo didn’t go according to plan with the two playing a combined 20 games.

And when Irving returns to starting point guard, Brooklyn will have three adept ball handlers. When you’re looking to make upgrades to a contender, trading away that which you have an abundance of is the top and most viable strategy.

Either one of LeVert or Dinwiddie next to Taurean Prince would make for an appealing trade package. Brooklyn could very well form a Big 3.5, if we’re still accounting for DeAndre Jordan.

The problem will be finding that big third name, and a team willing to give them up. Watch guys like DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs, Victor Oladipo of the Indiana Pacers, or Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans as potential targets for Marks and his front office.
