4. P.J. Brown

P.J. Brown is the closest thing to Dennis Rodman in the history of the New Orleans franchise, and boy, could the Pels use that right now.

The need for a versatile defender and relentless rebounder on this squad is more than apparent. Whether an individual would step into a role such as this and could contribute anything more is irrelevant. If the Pels could find a player to fill such a role for 30 minutes a night, the lottery could consider itself struck.

Brown isn’t a wing, standing at 6’11″. But, he’s also not the thickest guy in the world, weighing in at 225 pounds. In other words, he’d be perfect to stand in and defend an opponent’s best player, should they be between 6’7″ and 7’0″ tall. His length, athleticism and determination to grab a loose ball would prove to be quite irritating to the best wings, forwards and centers in the league.

With a roster full of men who are beloved throughout the league and show little-to-no bitterness with any other franchise, adding a non-nice guy to the roster would provide a needed grit that the 2019-2020 Pelicans don’t possess.
