#1: 2015-16 Warriors

And here we have it folks.

Yes, this team infamously choked in the NBA Finals. And yes, they blew a 3-1 lead.

Yes, the Warriors blew the chance to win their second championship in a row. And if we look into the future, if they won in ‘15-’16, they would’ve not three-peated, but four-peated — something only the ‘60s Celtics have done.

LeBron James, however, arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time, dropped 109 points in the Cavs’ three straight wins to take that title. Unfortunately, the Warriors couldn’t stop the 32-year-old who came back to Cleveland to win the team’s first championship in franchise history. Sometimes you just have to give it to the team with the best player on the court.

The ‘15-’16 Golden State squad didn’t finish the ultimate job, but they still won 73 games, breaking the ‘95-’96 Bulls regular season record. Before the WCF and the Finals versus OKC and CLE, the Warriors were 81-11 combining the regular season and first two playoff series.

This team shot the ball like crazy, shooting 41.6 percent collectively from 3-point range, and their top guys (Klay, Steph, and Draymond) stayed healthy and only missed a combined six games between the three of them.

And they did all of this without adding another MVP, something they did the following summer.

Unfortunately, unlike most other teams in this five-year dynasty, the ‘15-’16 Warriors didn’t win when it mattered. But that still doesn’t take away from this historical team.
