Golden State Warriors: Ranking the 2014-2019 Dynasty Teams
By Drew Taylor
#4: 2014-15 Warriors
The 2014-15 squad is the first team in the dynasty. It was also Steve Kerr’s first year as head coach of the team.
With 67 wins, this team took the league by storm. Although not the best, it is arguably the most fun and exciting team to watch out of the bunch.
They shot 27 3-pointers a game, an astronomical amount considering the era. This team truly helped turn the NBA into the 3-point fest that it currently is, and they had both the best offensive and defensive rating in the league.
As a young team with crazy potential, three out of the five starters were younger than 25 and had only played a combined seven seasons. A younger and scrawnier Steph Curry put together his third straight season scoring 20+ points/game in a “prove it” year. And as one of the best sixth-men in the league, veteran Andre Iguodala held down the fort despite starting zero games and averaging just 7.8 points per game.
Though an exhilarating team to watch, in comparison to the future four, the ‘14-’15 squad is nothing special. Although they paved the road for future teams and won the first of three NBA championships, we would later learn this organization had loads of untapped potential.
In other words, they would prove they could do better.
