The LA Clippers are one of the best teams in the league and Kawhi Leonard is the machine that drives this team.

The LA Clippers during the offseason had a chance to turn their franchise around. During free agency, they knew they had a chance to get Kawhi Leonard and Paul George if the moon and the stars aligned right. Gratefully for them, they were able to acquire both players and now they are one of the best teams in the league.

More from Hoops Habit

In Leonard, they are getting one of the best players this league has to offer. He is almost certainly the third-best player in the NBA behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Both Durant and James have not been able to excel on defense as Leonard has. He also has the efficient offensive capability that both those players have.

Leonard is the Weapon X of basketball. He can do it all. He can post up players, has a good mid-range and 3-point game, he rebounds, has improved his passing, can guard the best player on the other team, is great in transition and has already won two championships.

The only knock on him is that he hasn’t won an MVP yet and his slow start coming into the league. Leonard did not have it all there offensively when he came into the NBA and injuries have slowed him down the last few seasons.

When he finally sheds load management MVP notoriety will finally come his way. Leonard has done everything else though. He has four All-Star appearances and was an All-Star MVP this year, he has won Finals MVP twice, has won in both conferences, has won defensive player of the year twice, he is a steals champ and three times All-NBA.

Leonard is a machine and he has not had his best season yet.
