Derrick Rose brought many highlights for the Detroit Pistons this year. With the season likely over, let’s look back at his top games of the year.

There were two nice surprises this season for a Detroit Pistons team that was otherwise going nowhere. We have already looked at the top five games of the season for Christian Wood. Derrick Rose is the other key free agent signing from last summer. Rarely has a veteran free agent picked Detroit and it has worked out so well for both parties.

Rose was looking for a chance to fully revitalize his career after stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Rose had a nice season in Minnesota last year but plenty of fans were skeptical he could continue the positive output while staying healthy. While there were a few nagging injuries this season and not many wins, Rose quickly became a fan favorite and helped make an otherwise forgettable season memorable.

This was Rose’s highest-scoring season since his final All-Star berth back in the 2011-2012 season. He also averaged his highest assist total in that time as well. He fully embraced his role as a bench star for this team and was kept around at the deadline because he wanted to be in Detroit.

Whittling the list down to only five games was surprisingly difficult, considering we saw him break his streak of most consecutive 20-plus point games that was set in his MVP season. Where next season goes with him is still unwritten but this season was plenty of fun so let’s look back at some of the highlights.
