March 4

Starting off the month of March strong, Christian Wood was ready for the Oklahoma City Thunder in his second meeting with them of the season. Against one of the better defensive teams in the league, Wood knew he would have to bring his best to keep it close at home against the visiting Thunder.

In 39 minutes (most of anyone in the game), Wood put up 29 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a block. He was 12-of-16 from the floor (most field goal attempts in the game) and made the most 3-pointers in the game, going 5-of-6. Efficiency is a hallmark of this list and 75 percent from the floor along with 83.3 percent from long range.

The biggest negatives for Wood in this game are his six turnovers and four personal fouls. That being said, his main defensive matchup in Steven Adams was held to eight points and seven boards. Some of that is a lack of role in the offense but Wood will take defensive wins where he can get them.

Ideally, the big man would get to the line some as well but at this point, we are nitpicking. Consistency is what we want and that is what Wood gave, helping to keep the final score to a seven-point loss which is respectable for this Pistons squad.
