Redrafting the 2015 NBA Draft: Role players everywhere

#11 Pick: Terry Rozier (Originally: Myles Turner)

This season was lost from the start when Paul George broke his leg while playing with Team USA over the summer. This gave the Pacers team, perennially competitive, a chance at a rare lottery pick. They were lucky in reality that Myles Turner fell to them but not it is back to the drawing board.

Going in a completely different direction, Terry Rozier makes a lot of sense for Indiana. When given opportunities in Boston (i.e. when better options were injured) he excelled, scoring regularly in double figures and shooting well from distance. He has only gotten more efficient with more minutes in Charlotte showing to an extent that he was not just a product of Brad Steven’s system.

Drafting Rozier could have prevented the team from the ill-fated Ty Lawson signing and allowed Rozier to come along slowly behind Monta Ellis and George Hill. Known as Scary Terry, Rozier has a slightly subpar reputation for thinking he is a little better than he actually is and is now overpaid in many fans eyes but the production is hard to deny. In the right system, he is a successful option and this feels like the right fit.
