2. Dennis Rodman remains a man all his own

There are two sides to Dennis Rodman, both of which were on full display in episode No. 3 of the MJ doc.

Despite standing just 6’7”, he was a ferocious rebounder and otherwordly defender. Get him talking and Rodman will explain the complexities behind the art of rebounding and the methods he used to become one of the greatest rebounders of all-time.

Then there’s the other side of Rodman, the type to ask for a vacation in the heat of the 1997-98 regular season and sprint to Las Vegas upon being granted 48 hours.

When Rodman came to work, he gave everything he had. The same could be said when he decided to spend a night on the town doing whatever it is Dennis Rodman does at those hours.

It’s how, upon eventually returning from his Vegas voyage, he was able to jump right back into the thick of basketball intensity and appear as though he never left, sprinting past his fellow teammates at a level that surprised even Jordan.

How Rodman could get less than the optimal amount of sleep and go grab 15+ rebounds that night is beyond a mere mortal’s comprehension. Kudos to him, then, for making sure he never sacrificed an inch of himself while still finding a way to outhustle everyone he shared the court with.
