2. Aron Baynes

Anyone following the NBA this season could have seen the impact Aron Baynes had with the Phoenix Suns this season.

When DeAndre Ayton was suspended, Baynes stepped in and helped guide the Suns to one of the best records in the West, and kept them in playoff contention. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury that kept him out for an extended amount of time, and his magical season was delayed.

Upon return, he eased his way back before going off for 37 points against the Portland Trail Blazers along with 16 rebounds, had two blocks, and hit nine threes in the Suns’ win. It was a performance that gave everyone a flashback to the start of the season when Baynes was dominating opposing frontcourts.

Considering the Celtics traded Baynes for a draft pick, many Celtics fans felt uneasy about watching their former big man go to town in Arizona. His floor stretching and shot-blocking would have been perfect in Boston’s weak frontcourt

Although Theis was more than enough as the starting center this season, no one would complain if Baynes was at least a big body off the bench, especially since Enes Kanter isn’t the best fit as the current backup center.

The Celtics already rank as a top defensive team in the league, but the possibilities would be endless if a true rim protector like Baynes was still on the roster.
