3. Marcus Morris Sr.

Marcus Morris may not have been a name suggested by many fans out there, but he would have been a wonderful contributor to the Celtics, especially with their bench unit.

Although the roster as a whole saw a direct change in the offseason, it can be argued that Morris was the biggest loss of them all. He saw time off and in the starting unit and showed he was comfortable doing either.

With all the injuries the team sustained over the course of this season, having Morris as a backup would have been easier to digest for Celtics fans. Throughout last season, he averaged 13.9 points, shooting 37.5 percent from distance and 44.7 percent overall.

Having Morris come off the bench with players like Marcus Smart and Brad Wanamaker would have been a dream defensively. We already know what Smart is capable of, and Wanamaker is an underrated defender that can come up with a stop when needed.

Where Morris really would shine is with his shot-creating.

As currently constructed, the Boston Celtics do not have a shot creator on their bench, and bench play has relied on Enes Kanter post-ups or Marcus Smart 3-pointers, with the occasional score from Wanamaker or Semi Ojeleye.

Marcus Morris Sr. would have played his role perfectly, and it is a shame the Celtics couldn’t afford to keep him during the offseason.
