3. Anthony Johnson

Anthony Johnson, a 6’3″ point guard, was drafted by the Kings with the 39th pick in the 1997 NBA Draft out of College of Charleston. He put up 7.5 points and 4.3 assists per game as a rookie and was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks.

He also played for the Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets and Indiana Pacers over his 17-year career. His career year came when he was with the Pacers where he averaged 9.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and even scored 40 points in a playoff game.

Ironically, he was later dealt back to the Kings from the Hawks before the 2008 trade deadline in a deal that included Tyronne Lue, Shelden Williams and Loren Wright for Mike Bibby. In his second stint with the Kings, he averaged 3.9 points and 2.2 assists a game behind Beno Udrih.

Johnson was not one of those flashy point guards stars similar to Steve Nash but did shoot decently from three, shooting 35.6 percent from downtown for his career.

He was more of a backup point guard but did get 249 career starts throughout his 17 seasons. He retired after his last season with the Magic in the 2009-10 season.
